Description

Wise was set up in 2015, supporting airports and their suppliers in integrating and testing baggage screening equipment. In 2022 we are a company that specialises in the development and end-to-end delivery of controls, automation, and data tooling. Although we now cater to wider aviation needs, we still have our roots within the baggage screening equipment area and as such are looking to grow our testing and servicing department.

As a Security Screening Engineer you will be joining a team of passionate individuals that collectively deliver a quality service to all our clients within Hold, Cabin, and Cargo security screening. You will be expected to provide and support the delivery of the following services:

  • Reactive and planned maintenance of Explosive Detection Systems within Hold Baggage, Cabin Baggage, and Cargo systems.
  • Testing of Explosive Detection Systems to ensure correct performance and integration with external systems.
  • Root cause analysis of system based issues.
  • Continuous improvement project working.
  • Completion of engineering reports & updates of maintenance records.

Requirements

The Security Screening Engineer will have the following Skillsets, Experience and Attitude:

  • Subject Matter Expertise within Explosive Detection Systems, particularly CT technology.
  • Accountability, must ensure equipment is safe to use and maintained in accordance with manufacturer literature and statutory obligations.
  • Flexible skillsets and attitude, having the ability to carry out different activities when requested, try things new, and learn from others.
  • Strong communication skills, ensuring tasks are understood and completed as expected and on time.
  • Committed team player.
  • Willing to travel if required.

It is desired, but not essential, for the following experience:

  • Baggage Handling System Controls and Integration.
  • Hold & Cabin baggage screening processes

Ideally the following qualifications:

  • City and Guilds or ONC/HNC appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Technician apprenticeship scheme or equivalent.
  • Completion of relevant and related skills training.
  • Ability to obtain airside passes, licences, and permits.
  • Full UK driving licence.
